Special Edition: Fourteen Views of the Kanawha Salines
Special Edition: Fourteen Views of the Kanawha Salines
Along the Kanawha River in West Virginia, a group of saline springs became the source for a thriving industry in the 19th century. Salt is cultivated there again today, and this zine features photographs of that material. The publication is broadsheet-sized (apr. 13.7” x 19”) with twelve pages, including two two-page-spread images.
The special edition includes a 9.5”x13” inkjet print on glossy photo paper of a photograph from the series. The signature on the back, and the stamped edition number on the wrap, incorporate iron oxide pigment collected from the salt production facility at J. Q. Dickinson Salt Works—so with each of these, you’re adding a very small bit of West Virginia saline geology to your corner of the world. Edition of 24, 2025
